Alex Morrison

Children's Minister

Alex Morrison is a simple man. Born in a small hospital (USC University Hospital) in a small coastal town (Los Angeles) too many years ago to count, he brought a simple joy to his parents, Ernest and Victoria Morrison. They lived there for about a year until rudely being uprooted to the metropolis of Springfield, Missouri. It was in this city that his two younger sisters, Holly and Dawn joined his family. It was also in this city that Alex, at the age of eight, accepted the Lordship of Jesus Christ over his life, and allowed Jesus to forgive him of his sins.

At the young age of nine his family made the long journey to Texas. They settled in a rural city outside of Houston called Conroe. Alex graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1991, and attended The University of Texas in Austin for his first step in his college career. His next step was to the bustling Kingwood campus of North Harris Montgomery County College. From there he continued his education at Austin College in Sherman, Texas (Not Austin Community College). Prior to his trek to AC, God placed a call upon Alex's life.
In the spring of 1992, after recovering from a three-week battle with appendicitis, Alex chose to argue with God about his going into the ministry. December 20, 1992 God won the fight when Alex surrendered his life to follow God's design for him in the ministry. Alex began serving bi-vocationally at the First Baptist Church of Groceville.

In 1995, during a sabbatical from his college career, Alex met and fell in love with the woman with whom he would spend the rest of his life. After being married in 1996, Nicole and Alex have been blessed with three super sons (Joshua, Matthew & Timothy) and one Dyn-O-Mite (said like Jimmie Walker as "J.J. Evans" in Good Times) daughter (Mariah). In 2000, Alex went back to college at Dallas Baptist University where he would finally achieve his Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree in Christian Studies in December of 2001. Alex has since pursued his post graduate studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth (and is currently on another sabbatical).

Over the years Alex has worked in many different fields (veterinary medicine, human medicine, finance, residential group care & community after-school care). However, he is now serving vocationally in the area that is his heart's calling - ministry. He is currently the Servant to Children (and their families) at Brenham's First Baptist Church where he loves finding out what great things God has around the corner and writing biographies about himself.
