Dr. Charles "Rusty" Walton is our Intentional Interim pastor. Dr. Walton is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University. He holds the Master of Divinity and the Doctor of Ministry degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Walton completed his studies in pastoral ministry at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas. While a student at LSU, Dr. Walton worked as a finger print technician for the Louisiana State Police. He has since served as a police chaplain for several different departments. Rusty is also a regular writer for Baptistway Press.

Dr. Walton and his wife, Brenda, have two adult children and three grandchildren. Rusty and Brenda make their home in Conroe, Texas, where he retired as a Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church in 2009.
